Winters Coming

The days are getting shorter

the trees are growing bare

The sun is hiding more these days

We need warm clothes to wear

The fireplace needs an overhaul

The autos need some antifreeze

Bring out the sweats and earmuffs

Its dropped some 10 degrees!!

It's time to cover up the flower beds

roll up the garden hose

bring in those pretty cushions

That adorn our patios

We must have the heater tested

Get that ole flu shot

Buy a new electric blanket

Cause the old one don't get hot

Start raking leaves

edge once more

Put in some insulation

Get out the coats

and woolen socks

we're here for the duration!!

Where's that scraper thingy thing

We bought for our windshields?

And those rubber bottom shoes

For climbing icy hills??

I can't seem to find the snow chains

I know that they are here

Didn't we have to buy a pair

for that storm last year??

If I can find the snow shovel

I'm sure that they're with it

Unlike my last year's winter clothes

The chains will surely fit

Out with the shorts and sleeveless tops

In with the flannel gowns

Don't ya love the winter clothes?

They cover lots of pounds!!!

I guess we'll stay inside more

What ever will we do ? ??
